We observed that our creators were struggling to understand and comply with TikTok Shop's complex content policies. To address this, we developed a series of creative educational resources designed to be more engaging and accessible. Recognizing the limitations of traditional policy documents, we opted for a more creative approach.
Our solution? To develop a series of creative educational series that would resonate with our creators. We focused on clear, concise explanations, utilizing relatable examples and an approachable tone to ensure the information was easily understood and retained. This approach aimed to empower creators with the knowledge they need to succeed on the platform while maintaining a safe and positive user experience. Based on our research and feedback, we identified the top ten most critical policy areas, including irrelevant product promotion, insufficient product descriptions, lack of physical product display, pornographic or vulgar content, content replay in live rooms with limited interaction, pirated content, poorly produced videos, and misleading product functionality.
